Sigh.

I hate having all these interesting books and no one to talk about them with. Just picked up another $90's worth today.

Retief's War

By Keith Laumer. Great book. The story of a Corps Diplomatique Terrestrienne diplomat who appears to be a subordinate... but then proceeds to outsmart everyone in sight.

You know, I suck at describing stories.

Just go read it.

You were pretty as can be...

... Sitting in the front seat,
Looking at me, telling me you love me, and you're happy to be
With me on the Fourth of July...
We sang Stranglehold to the stereo,
Couldn't take no more of that rock 'n' roll
So we put on a little George Jones and just sang along... sang along...

Fourth of July, by Shooter Jennings. Love it. I don't quite think it's listen-to-in-thirty-years material, but still... One of the choruses is a cappella, sounds great. I like songs that have a cappella, although I don't know about a cappella-only songs..

Ordered his CD from the library, can't wait for it. Don't want to have the radio on all the time to try to catch it. :-P
